       Robert Johnson President

Robert E. Johnson has been with Avista Utilities since 2002. He is currently the Building Operations Supervisor. He joined IFMA in 2014 and became a member of Northern Rockies Chapter and also achieved the Facility Management Professional (FMP) credential in 2015. Robert served in the US Navy aboard Aircraft Carrier USS Midway during Operation Desert Storm. (The same Aircraft Carrier that hosted IFMA's World Workplace Conference & Expo 2016 welcome event in San Diego, CA.) Robert has a son and two daughters that will all be in high school at the same time. In the summer youcan find Robert seeking sunshine and the perfect lake or river to float his boat.                 


     Curtis A. Harris - Vice President

Curtis began his career at K&H Facility Services, LLC in September 2012. During his tenure he was in charge of compliance for the company’s entire portfolio, including the DOH licensed & Joint Commission accredited medical properties that KHFS manages for Providence Health Services in Eastern Washington & Montana. Curtis was responsible for the oversight of the properties and respective technicians within the Spokane Valley, North Idaho, and Tri-Cities groups under management with K&H Facility Services. Curtis moved on from K&H in February 2018, becoming the Facilities Manager for the City of Spokane. Curtis is a graduate with an AA degree from the Spokane Community College HVAC/R programhe is a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager, BOC Certified Building Operator II, an EPA Certified Universal Refrigerant Technician, as well as the Heating Mechanic II and Low Pressure Boiler Operator licenses from the City of Spokane.Curtis is an Executive Board Member for the Northern Rockies Chapter of IFMA. Curtis served in the Army for six years, including a 15 month tour as a Combat Engineer in IRAQ. Curtis is married with 2 year old son and enjoys the outdoors and traveling.

    Santos Cardenas - Membership Chair

Santos Cardenas is the Regional Facilities Team Lead for Premera Blue Cross with decades of successful experience in facility management. Santos’ usual duties include implementing policies, overseeing maintenance, space planning, security and janitorial; handling emergency operations and ensuring safety compliance. Santos Graduated from Whitworth University with a degree in organizational management along with two associate degrees in accounting and HVAC&R.  He regularly attends national facility and security training conferences to stay up to date on new emerging technologies and new practices. He’s a strong believer in the power of positive thinking in the workplace. Santos enjoys spending time with his family and friends and tinkering with his classic car.

      Scott Lyman - Eastern Idaho Region Chair  

Scott Lyman is the director for REC Facilities and Operations at the Idaho National Laboratory (INL). In his 20 years at INL, he has had varied management experience. He served as Facilities & Site Services operations manager at the Materials & Fuels Complex; Bus Operations manager; Environment, Safety & Health supervisor at the Idaho Nuclear Technology and Engineering Center; and previously, focused on ES&H issues while working for Research & Development, Fleet Operations, Construction and Security. He has a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering and master’s degree in safety and health from the University of Idaho. Scott also served as a non-commissioned officer in the U.S. Army for six years.  

     Yorick de Tassigny, CFM, FMP, SFP - Boise Regional Chair

Yorick de Tassigny has been a member of IFMA since 2003, the same year he embarked in his facility management career. He earned the Facility Management Professional (FMP) designation in 2006, and the Sustainability Facility Professional (SFP) designation six years thereafter. In 2012, Yorick joined a group of fellow facility professionals looking to fill a void in local networking and learning opportunities by forming the Northern Rockies Chapter. He has since served in several capacities, including Treasurer and Vice President. Yorick has been in his current position of Building Facilities Supervisor with the City of Boise since 2013. Prior to that, he was the Facilities Manager for the City of Ontario, Oregon where he was recognized after a decade of service for having brought the organization out of the “dark ages” of facility management. On his spare time, you will find Yorick, fueled by the joys of raising two lovely teenage daughters, grinding away on his bike in the Boise foothills leaving in his wake a trail of dust and (much too often) skin.

       Jerry Van Guilder, FMA - Immediate Past President

Jerry Van Guilder is the Director of K&H Facility Services. Jerry joined Kiemle & Hagood Company in 1982 and is accredited through Building Owners and Managers (BOMI) as a Facilities Management Administrator (FMA). Jerry has been an active member of the Inland Empire Chapter-ASHRAE and transitioned through all of the officer positions on the Board of Governors, and is now looking forward to helping out with the IFMA Northern Rockies Chapter.  Jerry has two married daughters and three grandchildren…and a three year old golden lab named Annie.  Hobbies include camping, bowling and golf.


 Kasi Smith - Communications Chair

Kasi moved to Spokane area over four years ago from Seattle where she worked as a Account Mananger for Egencia (Expedia Corporate Travel). Since moving to Spokane where she worked as an Assistant Manager at Lululemon and then joined the Service Department at Fylnn Companies (formerly Cobra Roofing) 2 years ago. At Fylnn her main responsibility is to develop and maintain new and existing business. She is actively involved with the Spokane Community and graduated from Washington State in 2009 with a Sport Management and Communications Degree. She enjoys running, playing golf, traveling,watching all sports and hanging with her husband and 1 yr. old son, Dash.
